About Us
My main career path has been as a Probation Officer for over 28 years. I qualified as a Person Centred Counsellor in 2001. I now work in my own Private Practice as an Integrated counsellor, incorporating different therapies/modalities, recognising each person have their own individual needs. I recognise that complex lives and difficult upbringing can negatively impact on some individual’s mental health through childhood to adulthood. I have experienced counselling myself and despite knowing it was a really positive step to take, I remember only too well the anxiety I experienced prior to the first session. However, it was one of the most positive step I made as it helped to bring closure to the past and I began to accept things that I couldn’t change. I am now more resilient to issues that crops up in the present. I work with individuals and couples from Christian faith communities.
I am a Mentor and I currently volunteer as a Community Mediator. I also received referrals from Anxiety UK. I am also developing my skills further by attending various courses and seminars.
Given my past experience working in the Criminal Justice System, I am passionate about counselling offenders/ex-offenders in order to help them explore the reason behind their behaviour and support change through therapy. I also have a business plan, to work with offenders, that I am hoping to get up and running with the right contract or as an associate. Please contact me if you are that company/organisation looking for a person like me to assist in the rehabilitation of offenders.
